Penang Laksa noodle

This is Penang's Laksa noodle. It is one of the Penang's must try delicacies and also it's different from the Sarawak's Laksa noodle. The word of Laksa is believed to be originate Sanskrit word "Laksha" which means "many", referring to the abundance of ingredients that is being used to make the dish. It is made with shredded mackerel (Ikan kembung) and its main distinguishing feature is the assam or tamarind which gives the soup a sour taste. Other ingredients that give Penang laksa its distinctive flavor include lemongrass, cucumbers, onions, red chili, lettuce, pineapple, mint leaves & ginger buds. The aroma of Penang Laksa is simply great. You can easily order another bowl to satisfy the lust.
